Tata Motors has officially announced that the updated Nexon and Nexon EV will be launched in India on September 14, 2023. While specific product details have not been disclosed by the carmaker, several intriguing features of the new 2023 Tata Nexon facelift have been observed due to various sightings, some with camouflage and others without. Here’s a breakdown of the anticipated changes:
Interior Updates:
Inside the subcompact SUV, significant updates are expected, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. The dashboard has been redesigned, featuring slimmer AC vents, a new two-spoke steering wheel, and a touch-based HVAC control panel for a more modern and refreshing appearance.
Cosmetic Changes:
The 2023 Tata Nexon facelift will showcase noticeable cosmetic changes that set it apart from the outgoing model. Many design updates are influenced by the Curvv concept. The front fascia will present a fresh look with a slimmer front grille, newly-designed headlamps, LED DRLs, and prominent C-shaped protrusions housing the fog lamps and headlights. Except for the newly-designed dual-tone alloy wheels, the side profile is expected to remain similar to the current version. The rear section will feature a flatter design than before, incorporating C-shaped protrusions that house the reflectors. Read: Tata Motors To Launch Two New SUVs To Rival Creta & Grand Vitara
Engine and Transmission:
The facelifted Nexon will retain the existing 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. A major mechanical upgrade will be the introduction of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The transmission lineup will also include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed AMT unit. It’s possible that the turbo petrol engine might be offered with all four gearbox options. The 5-speed manual transmission could be available with the entry-level petrol trims, while the new 7-speed DCT unit could be exclusive to the higher trims.
Variant Lineup:
Leaked information suggests that the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift will be offered in 11 variants, namely, Smart, Smart+, Smart+ (S), Pure, Pure (S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+ (S), Fearless, Fearless (S), and Fearless+ (S) trims. The ‘S’ designation indicates the presence of a sunroof, while the ‘+” trims may come with optional packages.
As the launch date approaches, more detailed information about the updated Nexon facelift is anticipated to be officially revealed by Tata Motors.
