Mahindra & Mahindra has made significant announcements at its grand #Futurescape showcase in South Africa. The automaker’s event has showcased the unveiling of the cutting-edge OJA tractor range, along with the introduction of the Global Pik Up (based on the Scorpio N SUV) and the Thar.e concepts. The Mahindra Thar.e concept finds its foundation in the specialized INGLO-P1 platform, tailored for an extended range through a lightweight body construction and expanded battery capacity.

The electric SUV concept boasts an elongated wheelbase ranging from 2776mm to 2976mm, coupled with reduced overhangs. The overall diameter of its tires and ground clearance have also witnessed an increase. Mahindra affirms that the Thar.e will redefine off-road capability, offering best-in-class performance in aspects like approach angle, departure angle, ramp-over angle, and water wading ability. The design and styling of the electric iteration diverge distinctly from its internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered counterpart. Remarkably, the Thar.e electric model employs a shared rear powertrain and battery configuration.
