Starting with the exterior, the new MG Astor Black Storm Edition will sport a glossy black front grille in place of the chrome accent, adding a touch of sportiness. Black alloy wheels, complemented by red brake calipers, contribute to its athletic appearance. Expect to see black elements on the headlamp and fog housing, roof rails, window trim, and taillamp clusters. Red accents might make an appearance on the front and rear bumpers and the wing mirrors, adding a dash of vibrancy. The special edition proudly wears ‘BlackStorm’ badging on the front fenders.
Inside, a sleek all-black interior theme is punctuated by red seat upholstery and red accents on the dashboard and door panels, setting it apart from the regular model. Given that this special edition is based on the top-of-the-line Savvy trim, it comes generously equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring the latest smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, and an array of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Safety is paramount, with the inclusion of six airbags, electronic stability program, ABS, EBD, hill start and hill descent control, and brake assist, among others.
Powering the upcoming MG Astor Black Storm edition are the same reliable engines – the 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 110bhp and 144Nm of torque, and the 1.3L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, churning out an impressive 140bhp with 220Nm of torque. Transmission options include the 5-speed manual, 8-speed CVT automatic, and the 6-speed torque converter automatic unit (exclusive to the 1.3L petrol motor).
While the MG Astor Savvy variants are presently available within the price range of Rs 17 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh, the upcoming special edition is likely to command a slightly higher price tag, given its distinctive enhancements and added flair.
