Ola Electric has marked this Independence Day by unveiling the latest entry-level variant of its S1 electric scooter – the Ola S1 X. Priced at Rs 89,999, this model becomes the most affordable offering within the 2kWh battery segment. The X range also expands to include two additional variants: the S1 X with a 3kWh battery and the high-end S1 X+ priced at Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,09,999, respectively. Ola Electric has confirmed a special discount of Rs 10,000 for all three variants during the initial week, valid until August 21.
Nationwide bookings for the new Ola S1 X variants are now open. While deliveries for the premium S1 X+ variant are scheduled to commence by the end of September, customers can expect to receive the other two variants in December 2023.

The powertrain configuration for both the new Ola S1 X and S1 X+ models remains consistent, utilizing the same 4.5kW electric motor found in the S1 Air. Achieving 0 to 40kmph in 3.3 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 90kmph, these scooters deliver a spirited performance. The S1 X variant, featuring a 2kWh battery pack, boasts a top speed of 85kmph and accelerates from 0 to 40kmph in 4.1 seconds. Notably, the S1 X with the 2kWh battery provides an estimated range of 91km, while the S1 X and S1 X+ with the 3kWh battery offer extended ranges of 91km and 151km respectively.
Design-wise, the new S1 X range closely resembles the Ola S1 Air. However, it incorporates an LCD display as opposed to the TFT touchscreen unit. These electric scooters are built upon the brand’s innovative Gen 2 e-scooter platform and feature a flat floorboard design. Read: Ola Electric Car – What to Expect?
In addition to the new S1 X range, Ola Electric has also introduced the second-generation Ola S1 Pro Gen 2, priced at Rs 1.48 lakh. This marks an increase of Rs 8,000 compared to its predecessor. Built on a new platform, the model boasts substantial upgrades over its predecessor. The S1 Pro Gen 2 employs a 4kWh battery pack that has been enhanced for improved efficiency and range, powered by a 5kW electric motor generating 11kW of power.
Notably, the new model is claimed to offer a range of 195km, a notable improvement from the previous 170km to 180km range in Eco mode. Its battery can be fully charged within 6.5 hours. Additionally, the S1 Pro Gen 2 adopts a telescopic fork suspension system, having moved away from the single-sided front suspension. The new chassis design eliminates the spine section while providing a flat floorboard layout.
