Toyota Kirloskar Motor is all set to enter the compact MPV segment with its re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – the Rumion. All of its variant details, specifications, and features have already been revealed by the carmaker. What remains are its prices, which are slated to be announced in the coming days (possibly in the first week of September 2023). This will be the fourth re-badged Maruti Suzuki model from Toyota, and it’s claimed to be high on fuel efficiency and offer ample cabin space.
The new Rumion MPV will be made available with the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and CNG fuel options. The gasoline motor, which is the same as the one that powers the Ertiga, delivers power worth 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. Its CNG version is good enough for 88bhp and 121.5Nm. There will be two choices for transmissions – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Mileage figures stand at 20.51kmpl (petrol) and 26.11kg/km (CNG).
The Toyota Rumion model lineup is spread across three trims – S, G, and V. The entry-level S trim can be had with both petrol and CNG fuel options, while the G and V come with the 1.5L petrol-manual combination. The automatic transmission is reserved for the V trim, along with features such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, key-operated retractable wing mirrors, auto headlamps, front side airbags, cruise control, and a rear parking camera.
